Yum Cupcakery

Finally paid a visit to the Yum Cupcakery...a new custom cupcake shop in Gainesville. To my surprise and my roommate's, it's just around the corner from our apartment!

The owners, Claire and Stephanie Browning, are twin sisters who just recently graduated from UF; neither majoring in business.
The shop has myriad different cake flavors, frosting, fillings and toppings to choose from. Watermelon, gummy bears, m & m's, cherries, candy rose petals, espresso cake... My roommate and I could have spent all day deciding, but we finally went with velvet and cream cheese, watermelon, and strawberry lemonade. The adorable, colorful cupcakes were only $2.50 each. And luckily, they were as tasty as they looked.

You can pretty much mix and match anything on the menu, as well as request something you don't see on the menu, to create "the cupcake of your dreams." They also deliver.

Eventually, the shop will not only have cupcakes, but will be putting cookies, candy, salads, drinks, sandwiches and more to the menu, according to their Web site.

This shop is perfect for parties, kids, birthday surprises, and just a little pick-me-up in the afternoon. I can't wait to come back!
